Preparing your table-top frame [3]

Here’s how to prepare your table-top weaving frame:

You will need a measuring tape or ruler, a pencil and a hammer — plus the *wooden frame and nails from your kit.
See the small images below for positioning your nails which should be 1cm apart and along the centre of the frame section. Leave approx. 1cm from the inner frame edge at each end — this is to allow for easier passage of your shuttle as you work.

NB! Be careful as you hammer in the nails — only about 1/3 of the nail goes into the wood to avoid splitting the frame!!

*You can of course procure a frame and nails elsewhere. Old picture frames (not too ornate) or basic canvas frames for artists will work equally well. In the case of a canvas frame, carefully remove the canvas before preparing for weaving.
