In contemporary weaving where there may be various types of yarn and textiles used in a project, it will be very difficult to keep the sides of your woven piece ‘straight’. Inevitably chunky yarn and woving, for instance, will have a different volume and behave differently to finer yarn, fancy trimmings and so on.
